Grumpy boy starts to flick a bottle top
Our story begins with a familiar and cliché scene in many households: a parent deciding it’s time to switch off the screens. Little did we know, that this simple act would set off a chain of events that would lead to the creation of something truly special.
As the screens went dark, one of our boys found himself slumped at the kitchen table in boredom. With nothing but a bottle top for company, he sat there flicking it across the table.
Determined to lift the boy’s spirits, a challenge was born. A makeshift goal, crafted from a can of baked beans and a mug, emerged on the table.
“Flick it in,” I declared, eager to inject some excitement into the dreary atmosphere.
“Easy!” exclaimed the boy, his confidence unwavering as he effortlessly sent the bottle top sailing through the makeshift goal.
But as any good challenger knows, a true test of skill requires a bit of a twist. And so, a chopping board was introduced, strategically placed to one side of the goal.
“Hang on there, buddy!” I intervened, eager to up the ante. “You need to rebound off the chopping board first before scoring a goal.”
With this new challenge came a fresh wave of excitement. Sure, it was less easy, but it was undeniably more fun.
And thus, the seeds of KUGO were planted. From a simple game born out of boredom, a new world of possibilities unfolded. Stay tuned as we continue to share the journey of how Kugo went from a kitchen table challenge to a beloved game loved by all.
