Time to break out the 3D!

Now that our home-made prototype was refined and working, it was time to look at how to manufacture Kugo. We contacted lots of factories and manufactures, all requested 3D files. We used shapr 3D to create all the components in 3D format to millimeter precision. With the components in 3D we could now start to Time to break out the 3D!

Flick, test, learn, repeat

We played, we tested, we made changes. We tried out different sized pucks to see which felt best. The pucks kept bumping into the ramps, so we tested different bevel options that would allow them to go up smoothly. Into the workshop!

We started by sketching out components we might need to play all the games we’d thought of. For this game to be sold in shops we wanted it to be long-lasting. We didn’t want plastic pieces or weak pieces that could easily break. With a shed full of off-cuts of wood and some rusty tools Into the workshop!

A game is born!

As the weeks went on our game of get-it-in-the-goal became more complex, more difficult and more obscure. Rebounding back on yourself, getting it off the table into a saucepan and aim-it-at-your-little-brother-as-he-walks-by. As hilarious and brilliantly timed as this was, we don’t recommend this as a game to play. We started using toys, bricks and other A game is born!
